Necitas was born on March 20, 1938, in Cagayan, Philippines, to Salvador and Gregonia Fortaleza. From an early age, she developed a lifelong passion for helping others, a love for fashion, a deep commitment to her faith, and a devotion to her family.
She attended the University of the East in Manila, where she earned her Bachelors in Business Administration. In 1965, Necitas met the love of her life, Baltazar. They were married on March 30, 1967, beginning a devoted partnership that would span decades. After welcoming their four children and born in different parts of the world, the family eventually settled in the Seattle area, where they built a home and community for almost 50 years.
Necitas dedicated much of her professional life to The Boeing Company, where she worked as a Cost Management Analyst for 20 years. After taking early retirement, she embraced life with joy and compassion. She enjoyed traveling to the Philippines, Thailand, Spain, and other parts of Europe. She also participated in the Maharlika Filipino Club, and generously devoted her time volunteering at church. A devoted Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Stephen’s the Martyr in Renton, Washington. She was also deeply involved in the Filipino community, contributing to the Filipino Community of Seattle and proudly celebrating her heritage.
Necitas will be remembered as a woman of kindness, compassion, strength, and unwavering faith in god. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and she touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity. She lived by a simple yet powerful motto, passed down from her mother and instilled in her loving children: “If someone throws you rocks, you throw flowers back.” Her legacy of compassion, humility, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Alvin & Laura Ochosa; Albert & Azu Ochosa; Caroline & Chanton Sitandon; and Claire & Gerald Cornel. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Keegan & Kaitlyn Ochosa; Hannah, Leo & Victor Ochosa; Nia Sitandon; and Micah & Marco Cornel, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
