Peter Cioli

Peter Cioli arrived in Sacramento from Italy 58 years ago aboard the SS Andrea Doria. Peter Cioli a resident of Loomis for the past 16 years, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family May 22, 2014. Pete was born on August 28, 1938 in Italy in a small village called Dalli Sopra, because the nearest providence Lucca was a day's journey away, his birth record shows he was actually born on August 29. He arrived in the United States through Ellis Island in 1956 aboard the SS Andrea Doria just months prior to its sinking. Pete was a contractor for more than 50 years. His contributions to the development of parts of Northern California and Nevada were significant. He was passionate about building and restoring classic cars most recently he completed a restoration of a 1971 Ford step-side pickup which he was very proud of! He is survived by his loving wife Mary, his children Yvonne, Mike, Ginny; his grandchildren Brandon, Brooklyn, Alicia, Victoria, Michelle, Dylan and Makenzy; great-grandchildren Gabriella and Grace.
