Raymond Stanley Jacobson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Jacobson. Ray died on Saturday, August 17, 2024, two days shy of his 93rd birthday. He was laid to rest on Friday, August 23rd, 2024, in Sacramento, California.

Ray was the Husband to Anne Fine-Jacobson and Father of Paul and Laura Jacobson; and Kevin, Bruce, and Tracy Fine.

Ray Jacobson was born August 19, 1931, in Johannesburg, South Africa, to Gerald and Ada Jacobson. He was one of four children in a close family who had emigrated from Russia.

Ray left South Africa to move to Israel in 1956 and served in the IDF for one year. In 1957 Ray immigrated to England and then to the United States in the early 1960’s, settling in California with his first wife, Carol. Ray married his second wife, Anne, in 1980 and Ray's family was expanded with the addition of Anne's three children.

Ray worked as an accountant for most of his professional career, completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Sacramento State in 1983. He retired from the City of Sacramento in 1998 and loved being able to devote more time to his family and friends.

Ray was a member of the Brotherhood of B’nai Israel and was proud of his involvement in, and service to, the Sacramento Jewish community. Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed greatly.

May the memory of Ray be a blessing, and May the Eternal One grant peace to those who mourn, and comfort during this difficult time. Amen.
