Bob died peacefully at Sutter Hospital on July 7th at the age of 80.
Bob graduated from Clarksburg High, then served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean War. Once he left the Army, he went to work in the mail room for Aerojet. He and Beverly met the night he returned from Korea and were married 6 months later. They had three sons: Rick, Steven, and Ron and were blessed with 7 grandchildren: Stephanie Lee (Bret), Danielle, Ashley, Jacob (Stacy), Amber, Amanda Messenbock (Chris), and Hailey. They also have 4 amazing great grandkids: Tyler, Abbey, Derrick, and Jackson.
Except for a 10 year hiatus, where Bob and Beverly managed 2 fast food restaurants, from 1970-1980, Bob had worked for Aerojet. After 33 years, he retired as General Supervisor with the Solid Rocket Fuel Division.
Bob was an avid fisherman, and earlier in life a little league coach. He was well known for his baking and cooking abilities. He was a member of the South Sacramento Moose Lodge 255 and a proud member of the Freeport IDES lodge #3, which his grandfather Neves helped establish.
The Neves family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving and compassionate staff at Sutter General Hospital for their care for Bob during his time of need.
A Memorial Service will be held for Bob on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home, located at 4041 Freeport Blvd. Sacramento CA 95822, and will be at 11am. Please visit www.harryanauman.com for more information.
