

He grew up in Winamac, Indiana on a one hundred acre corn farm owned and worked by his father and three uncles. Ron had a flock of chickens and a plot where he grew green beans and during his life he referred to himself as a “country boy” even after years of living in the big cities of Chicago and Los Angeles.
Ron learned his profession as a computer software specialist in the early 1960’s when computers were so big they took up the entire room. He worked for years at Chicago’s First National Bank honing his computer skills and when he left there he worked as a contract worker for large companies such as IBM and Allied Van Company.
At the same time, he met and married Margaret (Peggy) Bolduc. By the early 1980’s they built their dream house in Darien, Illinois and had their two sons, Kenneth and Douglas.
By 1990, they decided to move to Encinitas, California for the warmer weather and to start their home computer business.
In the year 2000, Ron took the job of Senior Program Analyst for VSP’s Altair Division in Sacramento. Peggy’s health deteriorated and she passed in 2005.
Ron met his second wife, Beth Gregory, at ballroom dancing lessons held in the Elks club in Citrus Heights. The couple was wed in 2010 at Holy Spirit Church.
Some of Ron’s favorite things were working on cars when he was young. His 1969 Dodge Charger, his cherry red Chrysler 300Cm, He had great fun at aerobics classes that he attended for twenty years in different locals. He loved getting a massage and he liked to see all the programs on You Tube dealing with the space programs and the universe.
Ron lived with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) for many years and succumbed to it on November 19th.
Ron leaves behind his wife, Beth, his son, Kenneth (Genevieve) of Fountain Valley and their daughter Maggie Panici , Ron’s dear granddaughter, and son, Douglas of Sacramento, CA. His four siblings, Sandra Panici of Rome, Italy, Dan Panici of Washington, Utah and his younger sisters, Gloria and Gayle.
Services for Ron will be at Holy Spirit Church 3159 Land Park Drive. Mass at 10:00AM, Reception 11:00 to 12:30 PM, Interment at 1:00 PM at Camellia Cemetery, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento 95827.
