Shirley was called Home after a 6 month battle with cancer. She was born June 22nd, 1953 to Charles and Shirley Barger. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother Johnny. She is survived by her husband Richard, daughter Julie, son Jerry, brothers Charlie, Pat and Lane, and sister Kathy. She also leaves several grandchildren, nieces & nephews who will sorely miss her great attitude, pleasant smile and wonderful outlook on life. She also leaves numerous friends and coworkers. Anyone who met or worked with Shirley quickly learned to love her. She was a hard worker who loved her job both at work and at home caring for her dogs Lucille and Aimee. They also will miss their mom.
Through her battle with cancer she never once felt sorry for herself and never lost her will to live. She was always a fighter and never gave up.
Shirley loved the ocean and particularly Monterey where she and Richard were married in 1997. They would go back there several times through the years.
Shirley was the best wife any man could ask for. She will leave behind a tremendous void in not only her husband's life, but the lives of all who knew and loved her.
She will be forever missed. Now rest my love, there is no more pain. Go to Heaven and be with your family. Your dad, mom and John are at the table waiting for you. They need another partner to play cards with.
Viewing and services to be held at Nicoletti, Culjis and Herberger on Thursday, January 16th at 4:00 PM with Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.
