

Simpson Turner was born December 6, 1921 in Bienfield, Louisiana. On July 17, 2016 Simpson was reunited in heaven with his wife, Robbie Lee Turner. Mr. Turner was one of six children born to Allen and Simmie Turner. In Bienfield, he attended public school, and became a Christian at an early age.
At the age of 19, Simpson was drafted into the Army and served as a private during World War II. He received an Honorary Discharge in 1945.
In 1945 he moved to the Bay Area where he worked as a welder at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco, California. Mr. Turner later transferred to the Mare Island Shipyard where he retired after 38 years of Federal Service.
Mr. Turner enjoyed dancing, photography, playingcards and telling stories of his time spent in the Army. His debonair personality will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to be in his presence.
Mr. Turner waspreceded in death by hiswife, Robbie Lee Turner and is survived by hisson, Jerome Simpson Turner and a foster daughter, Jackie. He is also survived by his nephews:Calvin and Jimmie; Nieces:Ruth and Emma Lee; Great-nephew: Tony; Great-nieces: Regina, LaVena,Lugene,Debra, and Janice;Sister-in-law: Mardrie Turner, andCousin: Morlene.
