Yuk Ling Fong

Yuk Ling Fong, born in Hong Kong on September 21, 1949 and passed away in San Jose on December 12, 2023. Yuk Ling has joined her parents, Mong Lam & Sao Lan Yang, in eternal life. She is survived by the love of her life, husband, Harold P Fong Jr, a trustee on the Sacramento County Office of Education Board of Education, and their devoted and beloved son, Harold P Fong III.

Yuk Ling worked for California state government for 37 years. She worked at Secretary of State for 26 years and California Highway Patrol for 11 years, rising from Office Assistant to Accounting Officer before retiring July 2023.

Yuk Ling is also survived by her sisters, Rosanna Yuk King Lam (Jimmy Hui) of Vancouver, B.C.; Bonnie Yuk Fun Lam (Wai Ming Chan) and Yuk Kuen Lam (Wing Keung Lau) of Hong Kong; and brother Joe Wai Tak Lam (Loretta Leung) of Sydney. She has seven nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved: Herman Hui, Hugo Chan, Allen Lau, Jojo Lau, Catherine Lau, Heloise Lam, and Cheryl Lam.

Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held at Harry Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd. Sacramento, California on January 5, 2024. Viewing will begin at 12:00 pm followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that friends and family give a monetary donation in a white envelope or card, a Chinese custom known as “bok jin” or “white gold”, for the family to use in covering funeral expenses.
