Anthony L. Makela (Tony) of Duluth, MN. passed away quietly on Monday afternoon, June 17th in St Augustine, FL. He was adamant in improving his life as he trudged that road, and endeavored to pass learned experiences along to others. Tony worked as a machinist at Clyde Iron from the early 60’s until it closed, and subsequently when the business was reopened under different names. He enjoyed his years in retirement with his family and friends whom he treated just like family. He is preceded in death by his brothers Richard Makela and Joe Makela, and grandson Tony Makela III. He is survived by his five children Anthony Makela Jr., James Makela (Kyong Cha), Ronald Makela (Karen), Theresa Nunez, and Carolyn Rice (Timothy). His grandchildren Ricky, Mikey, Michael, Joseph, Cassandra, Jordan (Heidi), Brynn (David) Tory, Breanna, Tyler, Austen, Nathaniel, Cameron, Eunmi, Eunjin, and Eunjung, and seven great grandchildren. There is no scheduled Memorial Service presently.
