Darian Mitchell Hardy was born in Lexington, South Carolina on October 22, 1988 to Larry and Susan Hardy. He also lived in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to what he called his hometown, Seattle, Washington. Jacksonville, Florida became his permanent residence halfway thru kindergarten.
Mitch was academically and athletically talented. He played JV soccer at Bartram Trail High School and earned a partial scholarship to the University of North Florida where he received an AA degree in 2009. However, his life-long passion was music. He taught himself how to play drums, guitar and keyboard and played drums in several garage bands and at church.
His outgoing and energetic personality led him to a successful career as a restaurant server at several top tier restaurants in Jacksonville.
His faith journey was grounded by years attending Geneva Presbyterian Church as a child followed by involvement in the teen youth group at Celebration Church playing drums and attending camp.
Mitch passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026 surrounded by his family and friends.
Mitch is survived by his parents, Larry and Susan, his older brother, Nathan, sister-in-law, Lindsey, nephews, Liam and Ethan, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
