Eugenio Soriano Concepcion Jr, MD

He was a graduate of the University of the Philippines School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency training at the University of Kansas in Wichita, Kansas. He finished his cardiovascular and thoracic surgery fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Concepcion worked as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. His hobbies included golf, snow and water skiing, and world travel.

Eugenio Soriano Concepcion Jr, MD is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maria Lirio Concepcion, children Maryrose Concepcion, Eugenio Concepcion III, Stephanie Concepcion, Eduardo Concepcion, Daughter-in-law Maricel Concepcion, grandsons Ivan Velez Concepcion, Joseph Concepcion, and Maximilian Concepcion. He is also survived by his siblings, Sylvia Dizon, Jesus and Raul Concepcion. He is predeceased by his brother, Elizardo Concepcion.

A visitation for Eugenio will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns, 1285 St. Johns Parkway, St. Johns, FL 32259. A Catholic Funeral Mass, presided by Father Clay Ludwig will be celebrated on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:30 AM at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 FL-13, Jacksonville, FL 32259. A graveside service will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery, 1635 US-1, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
