

Karon was born January 19, 1956 in Longview, Texas to Albert and Fran Ware. She was the oldest of three siblings, Frank and Weldon Ware. Karon’s family settled in the Dallas,Texas area in 1971 where she lived until 2023. She graduated high school from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended college for a short time at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. The joy of her life was being a mother to Christopher, her only child. She was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Dallas. She enjoyed quilting and other crafts. She worked at Albertsons grocery stores most of her career. In 2023, she moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to be near her son and grandchildren. During that year, she had the great joy to experience time spent with Chris, Kathleen, Savannah and Riley.
Karon is survived by her son Christopher Hancock (Kathleen), grandchildren Savannah and Riley Hancock, mother Mary Frances Ware, brother Weldon Ware (Suzi) and nieces Katelynn Russell and Hannah Ware. She is preceded in death by her father Albert Ware, brother Frank Ware, grandparents Albert and Mary Mahlow and grandparents Emerson and Isabel Ware. She was loved by many kind and supportive nurses, doctors, friends and staff members at Good Samaritan Lake Forest Village in Denton, Texas and at The Terrace of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Fla.
Visitation will take place Friday, November 1, 2024 at 10am at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Karon’s honor.
