Michael Ray Mosley passed away on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the deep love of his family. Born on June 10, 1969, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Ray and Mary Mosley, Michael lived a life full of purpose, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished. To his family, he truly was “the greatest man in the world.”
Michael was a man who believed in hard work, craftsmanship, and the value of building things with his hands. A gifted woodworker, he took pride in creating pieces that reflected both skill and heart. He found comfort in maintaining a spotless home and often found peace in the simple act of cleaning. His garage—his beloved mancave—was his sanctuary, a place where he could tinker, build, or simply unwind. He loved landscaping, surfing, and being outdoors, embracing the joy found in nature and movement.
Above all, family came first. A man of Christian faith, Michael led his household with quiet strength, humility, and unshakeable love. As a father, grandfather, husband, brother, and uncle, he served as the proud patriarch of his family, always putting their needs above his own and guiding them with wisdom and grace.
Michael dedicated 25 years to serving his community as a Law Enforcement Officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office DUI Unit. After completing Police Training at Florida State College of Jacksonville, he entered the profession with compassion and integrity, never meeting a stranger and treating others with fairness and respect. He honorably retired after a long and distinguished career marked by service above self.
A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Michael was a diehard New York Yankees fan—especially fond of their iconic uniforms—and loved the sport in all its forms. He shared this passion by coaching youth baseball, proudly leading his son’s Little League team and shaping young players with his patience and encouragement.
Michael shared 29 years of love and partnership with his wife Marlou Mosley, spending 5 years together before marrying and enjoying 24 years of marriage. He is survived by his mother Mary (Jimmy); his father Ray, and stepmother Debi; mother-in-law, Lourdes Cyr; devoted wife, Marlou; son, Chase; daughter, Macy; three sisters, Mary (Dan), Michelle, and Taylor (Michael); and his treasured grandchildren, SJ, Jewel, and Bentley, along with many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Michael’s legacy is one of love, service, craftsmanship, and family devotion. He touched countless lives and leaves behind a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns, located at 1285 St. Johns Parkway in St. Johns, Florida, on December 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Services with Honors will take place at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, located at 111 Blanding Blvd in Orange Park, Florida following services.
Michael will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and steadfast servant to his family and community. His love and legacy will continue to guide those who were blessed to know him.
