John "Jerry" Gerald Willett, age 76, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Sunday March 31, 2019. "Jerry" was born August 27, 1942 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Mary Elizabeth Willett (nee Elliott) and James Leon Willett.
"Jerry" is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Willett; his son Matthew (Kari) Willett; and daughter Lisa (Christopher) Duello; his brother James Ralph Willett; sisters-in-law Mary Willett and Judy Willett and grandsons Sam Duello and Drew Duello.
"Jerry" was preceded in death by his father James Leon Willett and mother Mary Elizabeth Willett; his brother Robert Wayne Willett and sister Peggy Donovan.
"Jerry" was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a photographer with the 69th Signal Company. After his military service and college he worked for the Department of Defense as a photographer for the Defense Mapping Agency (NGA) here in Saint Louis until his retirement.
"Jerry" loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He also was a big sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Cardinals, the Blues and the Saint Louis Rams in particular.
A visitation for "Jerry" will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, Saint Louis, Missouri 63125. A second visitation will be offered on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Assumption Catholic Church, 4725 Mattis Rd, Saint Louis, Missouri 63128. It will be followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Following the Mass burial will take place in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, with full military honors.
