

Pat was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Lonnie and Cecil (Chester) Pace. She married Charles E. Schutte in Alton, IL, on April 26, 1958. They celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings: Rubye Stansbury, Dal Pace, Mary Young and Ann McBroom. Pat is survived by a daughter, Susan (Thomas) Nash of St. Charles, MO; a son, Scott (Tammy) Schutte of Edinburg, IL; two grandchildren, Jill (Tyler) Campo of Town & Country, MO and Joshua (Bianca) Schutte of Ward, AK; two great-grandsons, Luca and Armand Campo; sister-in-law, Nancy Schutte; a niece, Lynne Pryor of Springfield; along with several nieces and nephews.
Pat graduated from Alton High School in 1956. She worked for Myers Brothers Department Store in the accounting unit and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1993. She loved her role as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and especially great-grandmother! She showed great generosity in taking care of her family and friends, a selfless individual.
Pat was an active member of South Side Christian Church, and has attended Harvester Christian Church since moving to St. Charles, MO, five years ago. Throughout the years she was involved with the PTA, Girl Scout leader, youth group sponsor and awesome babysitter for all her family! Pat was an avid Pepsi memorabilia collector and enjoyed shopping.
Bisch Funeral Home West in Springfield is assisting with local arrangements. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at South Side Christian Church, 2600 S. MacArthur Blvd., Springfield, IL, Robert Green officiating. The family will be gathering at noon to accept visitors.
