

Born to Dorothy Higham and James Coyle on October 27, 1922. He graduated from Upsala College in East Orange, New Jersey, and St. Louis University. He had a long career in fundraising for St. Louis University, DePaul Medical Center and consulted for several non-profit St. Louis area organizations. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for military valor.
Richard was a member of the Gateway Chapter of the Battle of the Bulge. He served on the boards of Birthright and the White House Retreat League.
Richard is preceded in death by his brother James Coyle and his nephew Richard Coyle.
Richard is survived by his wife Teresa (Blaes) Coyle of 52 years; his children James (Nancy Averett) Coyle of Cincinatti; Dorothy (Todd) Raclaw of Chicago; Sarah Coyle and Grace (John) Collopy of Milwaukee; grandchildren John, Peter and Francis Collopy, Isabel and Sylvia Coyle, and Richard, Daniel and Caroline Raclaw. Beloved uncle, friend, colleague and neighbor to many.
SERVICES: Visitation at Kriegshauser West, 9450 Olive Blvd., 63132 on Thursday, July 14 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 15, 11:00 am at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 1510 Bopp Rd., 63131. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
