Katherine Hayes Patin

ST. MARTINVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Katherine B. Hayes Patin, age 68, at 11:00 am Monday March 23, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Coteau Holmes with Fr. Joe officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday March 22, 2015 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 7:00 am on Monday until the time of services.

A native of Catahoula and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Patin passed away on Saturday March 21, 2015 at Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Patin enjoyed spending her time reading. She would often play at the casino and was a member of the Pa-tu-la Blanchard Card Club. Mrs. Patin loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Wiley Hayes, Jr. (Kristie), Jesse Hayes (Alison), Wesley Hayes (Tabby), Deena Melancon (Leland), Della Hayes (Joe), and Sally Hayes (Patrick); brothers, Camile Blanchard (Lil), Roy Blanchard (Annie), and Wilmer Blanchard, Jr.; sisters, Della Dupuis (Newton), Beulah Punch (Jerry), Carol Russo, Louise Bergeron (Cleve), Ida Trautman (Glenn), and Loula Dunlap (Terry); twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-children; and first husband, Wiley Hayes, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Patin, Sr.; parents, Wilmer Sr. and May B. Blanchard; and sister, Sonja Blanchard.

Pallbearers will be Wiley Hayes, Sr., Wiley Hayes, Jr., Jesse Hayes, Wesley Hayes, Leland Melancon, and Joseph Menard, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bryce Melancon, Trent Hayes, Ian Hayes, Kendall Babers, Spencer Hayes, Conner Hayes, Mathew Hayes, and David Patin.
