Anne Winograd of Salem, entered into rest on October 3, 2024, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late David Winograd. Devoted mother of Jennifer (and John) Perigaut and Jonathan (and Beth) Winograd. Cherished grandmother of Madeline and Grace Perigaut, and Joshua and Adam Winograd. The loving sister of Helen Newman. Cherished aunt to Larry (and Margaret) Newman, and Alan, Steven, and Sharyn Winograd and Jodi (and Andy) Schuleman. Dear daughter of (the late) Florence and Samuel Abramovitz.
Anne grew up in Chelsea, Massachusetts, graduated from Wellesley College in 1956, and raised her family in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
She worked as an editor for the University of Michigan Press after graduating from Wellesley and later as an office manager for her husband David’s orthodontic practice while also spending her time as a homemaker for her children.
She volunteered for many years on the Marblehead PTA and the Temple Emmanuel sisterhood. She was a dedicated member of the Wellesley Club and a lover and supporter of the arts and literature. She loved to read, play bridge, and do the New York Times crossword puzzle and enjoyed going to museums and attending the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She will forever be remembered for her keen intellect, her quiet gentle and loving counsel, and for always a being a faithful friend, wife, mother and grandmother to confide in and seek wisdom from. She cherished her time spent with family and friends, and she especially loved her four adoring grandchildren.
A funeral service for Anne will be held on October 6th, 2024, at 10 AM at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, Massachusetts, with interment at Temple Emmanuel Cemetery, 48 Buxton Road, Danvers, Massachusetts to follow.
