Arthur was the devoted father of the late Wendi Plotkin and Kenny Plotkin, a loving grandfather to Erika Diaz and her husband Shawn Crocker, and a proud great-grandfather to Veyda Crocker. He was deeply loved by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A true entrepreneur, Arthur was the proud owner of The Cove and was well known throughout the community. He also took great pride in participating in the senior workers program for the City of Revere, working as a groundskeeper for Revere Public Schools at Garfield Elementary School, where he himself had attended as a child.
If you ever had the chance to talk with Arthur, he would proudly tell you how he was mayor for a day in the City of Revere during high school, served as class president, worked for Bic Pen during its early development, and held the longest high jump record at Revere High School for many decades.
He lived life entirely on his own terms, marching to the beat of his own drum and unapologetically being himself. He had a heart of gold, a sharp sense of humor, and was always ready with an “Arthur” joke. Arthur loved being outdoors, feeding the birds, and, of course, enjoying his beloved pickles.
Anyone who knew Arthur knew that he loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and never pretended to be anyone other than exactly who he was. He inspired those around him to be the most authentic version of themselves. And if you happened to get on his wrong side, you also knew he could hold a grudge like no other, something his family remembers now with both laughter and love.
Arthur leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and laughter that will continue to live on through those who loved him most. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life gathering is currently being planned, and details will be shared at a later date.
