We just learned of our old friend’s passing today. To Doreen, Michael and Rebecca our heartfelt condolences. Don was a good friend, husband, father, grandfather and professional. His insatiable sense of humor is something that still makes me smile today. He was a licensed maritime captain and taught me a few things about biting that I’ve never forgotten. He  was also a musician and I can still hear him singing his favorite classics or winning an oldies trivia contest on a cruise we were both on.  The silliness of life drove us separate ways but the fondness remains.

Having met Don in 1985, serving on an education board, both of us running our family school, we made a quick and long term friendship.
I relied on his opinions regarding compliance related issues for years, because Don was known nationally as an honest, highly ethical and knowledgeable expert.
When I had the opportunity to work with him I jumped at the chance.
I will miss having our daily conversations, lunches and even the occasional adult beverage where we had a chance to talk about our School, families and futures.
He was such a hard working person, dedicated and proud of his family including his Nettts family. He was truly a transformative partner and he led the company with me for so many years.
To Doreen and the family and friends of Don, you are joined in your loss by the Nettts family.

Our paths have not recently crossed but you were always near in my mind.  A man is not judged by the number of years he lived but by how he lived those years. Your life was dedicated to helping others aspire, to reach their dreams. You’ve done your part in making our world a better place. I wish you eternal rest.

I volunteered with Don a couple times with ACCSC.  He had far more experience than I did, and he was very kind and patient with me. His passion for education and for supporting students (and colleagues) was evident at all times. Truly a great man!

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Don’s passing. One of the last good men out there. He loved to show people a good time and he was always more interested in hearing about you. 
  I worked in a salon across from the business school on Pearl and he walked in one day and got his haircut and stayed with me for years. He became fondly known as “the walk-in”. Even after he moved to the North Shore he would stop in to visit..always a smile on.

To Doreen and Don's family - it is with a heavy heart I send my most sincere condolences to you. I worked alongside Don for almost 8 years - he hired me and saw my potential to be a great team member at NETTTS.  I will never forget him for the opportunity he gave me and for the leadership he provided to all of us. He will be sorely missed and irreplaceable. "He was escorted in such splendor, if you could only have seen the beauty and the majesty as angels carried him home".  A great human being mentor and friend who touched everyone he met in a positive manner. To his family rest assured his memory is everlasting and always remember he loved you all and spoke about you all so much.  Remember his footprint is in the sands of time we will all miss him until we meet again

I only worked with Don and did not see him on a daily basis. However I held him in highest regard and respect. He was always very friendly to me and offered advice whenever I needed it. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this most difficult time.

Don was an incredible person and a mentor to me.  He always had a way of staying firm in his actions while taking time to recognize the talents of others.  While being passionate about his profession, he was always able to take that hat off and have a little fun.  I will miss the moments of great conversation and fun times playing pool.  He will forever be in my heart and thoughts!  I am sending all of my love and prayers to his family and closest friends during this difficult time! 

Doreen, Howie and family I wish to express my deepest sympathies.  Don was not only a professional mentor to me, he was a close personal friend.  He was one of the most prudent and practical people I had in my life.  I often sought his advice and counsel both personally and professionally and he always seemed to have just the right solution - usually delivered with an effective common sense approach that I appreciated and admired greatly... So many great memories to hold onto but for me certainly our golf trip to West Palm including dinners at Carmine's and drinks/music/cigars at The Angry Moon will always be in my heart and on my mind.
