Born in Lynn, MA, he was a son of Martin and Zelda (Silverman) Abramson. Gary spent 45 years on Cape Cod and loved the peace and tranquility that it provided him.
He graduated from UMASS with a BS degree and was a member of it’s Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity where he cultivated and cherished many close lifelong friendships with fraternity brothers. Gary’s passion of caring for people was demonstrated daily in the food and hospitality industry as the owner of Sundancers Cape Cod, a popular waterfront restaurant in West Dennis, MA. While at Sundancers, Gary coordinated many events and sponsored many fundraising activities for those in the community.
He was a member of the Dennis Chamber of Commerce, the Massachusetts Restaurant Association and the King Way Golf Course.
Gary was a lifelong lover of music and played the guitar as a young man. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Pats. A fairly new golfer, he loved spending time on the links.
He will be long remembered as he touched hundreds if not thousands of people he came in contact with and created lasting memories for so many. Gary loved animals and will be especially missed his beloved feline friend Sunny.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother and sister in law, Joel and Mary Abramson of Swampscott, MA and his adoring nephew Benjamin Abramson of Washington, DC.
Gary’s funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1pm in the Stanetsky Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA. Burial will be in Ahabat Shalom Cemetery, Buxton St., Danvers, MA
The family will greet well-wishers immediately following the service until 8pm at the home of Joel and Mary Abramson where memorial observance will continue on Monday from 4-8pm.
