

NEWBURYPORT – George Mark Cohen, a lifelong resident of Newburyport, entered into rest after a long battle with a chronic illness, Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
George was the beloved son of Ramona (Chavira) Cohen and the late Myron Cohen. He is also survived by his devoted children, Cassandra and Joey Cohen; two loving siblings, Mitchell Cohen Sr. and Linda Cohen Tobin; his dear former wife, Corrina (Minney) Chenard; his beloved aunt, Sandra MacBurnie; his cherished two nieces and nephew, Mitch Cohen Jr., Maggie Tobin and Catherine Cohen and many dear friends. He was also the loving brother of the late Anthony W. Cohen, who recently passed in April 2015.
George was a graduate of Newburyport High School, class of 1971. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant, Law Enforcement Specialist for the United State Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was employed a Decontamination Specialist at many nuclear power plants for many years.
George was an avid gardener and devoted his life to his family. He truly enjoyed spending quality time with his two children and had a unique sense of humor, which his family will miss dearly.
Graveside Services at Newburyport Hebrew Cemetery, Toll Road, Salisbury on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM.
