I can't believe that it has been a year since we lost Harriet.  I still think of her often.  In fact, every time I am in Peabody, I think of her and my visits with her.  We shared a love of Judaism, knitting and crocheting, Eastern Star, and many other things. I will always miss her wonderful smiles.

Dear Ted and Polonsky Family, I am very sad to learn of Harriet's passing. I will remember her as a kind, warm person who enjoyed life and contributed selflessly to the Masonic and Shriners causes. I will always appreciate your kindness when you and Harriet were very supportive during Ralston's brief illness and passing in 2014, I will cherish the fond memories of our encounters at many Shriners events. I was so sad to learn that Harriet has passed while in California.  We shared so many activities.  I can't imagine not seeing Harriet on Zoom at a Congregation Sons of Israel meeting of any kind or at an Order of the Eastern Star meeting ever again.  We also traded knitting and crocheting patterns.  She was always so much fun to talk with.  I will miss her very much.  I wanted to let you know that I plan to make a donation to the Heard Chapter No. 94 Order of Eastern Star Scholarship Fund in Harriet's memory.  A scholarship is given every year to a graduating senior of Ipswich High School.  I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts.

She truly lit up the room when she walked in and always made  Michelle and I feel welcome and accepted. Ted and Harriet were two peas in a pod, one of the best couples and teams around. They made positive marks on countless lives and I know she will be the Angel that keeps Ted doing the work they did so well together ❤️  Eternal be your memory in God's blessed Kingdom of no pain, no sorrow nor suffering and may his grace for strength and comfort anoint her loved ones and friends in their time of mourning!

I first met Harriet at the Aleppo Shrine Ceremonial in 2013.  I had just been "fezzed", and as I proudly walked to my seat, she stepped in front of me, and straightened my fez.   Harriet likely straightened my fez more than fifty times in the years since.  Her eye for detail, and just making sure the Shriners were on point is famous within our fraternal ranks.  You're not truly an Aleppo Shriner until Harriet straightened your fez at least once.  Harriet served the fraternity with a vigor and dedication unsurpassed.  She would help anywhere it was needed, and always gave it her all.  
  Today, I looked through pictures of Harriet on Facebook.  I did a simple search of her name, and it came up with hundreds of hits.  What I got from looking at those photos; Harriet is well loved, and loved well.  You would be hard pressed to find many pictures of her without a smile, even the candid photos online.  What is also remarkable is the variety of people, places, and things Harriet is pictured with, at, or doing.  Harriet lived well.  She will be sorely missed at Aleppo Shrine, and in Shrinedom in general.  There will certainly be many a fez askew with out her.

When i think of Harriet Polonsky I think of a woman who LOVED her family and showed it in a million ways.  I have known Harriet for almost as long as she was alive.  I went to the Jewish Center in Lynn MA with her sister Judy.  We were in nursery school and then clubs together and when she and  I had a baby sister at about the same time, we had something else in common I think. Certainly, we were in Hebrew School at Temple Beth-El so I would see Harriet when we all were at Temple events.  Then time went by when Judy and I were not in the same circles as we lived in different places.  Zoom ahead and my cousin Teddy Polonsky was dating a woman who it seemed was serious, and that woman was Harriet.  As a family Ted and his family, my other cousins, and my family were at our grandparents' home every Sunday, Ted's father being a favorite of all of us.  We were a tight family.  Now, Ted was marrying Harriet and she was always such a pleasure, always welcoming, and the love for her family emitted from her like a glow, an aura.  A testament to that is in her daughter, sons, and their mates and their dedication to their families and each other's families. It is also a testament that so many younger people call her Mom Polonsky.   It is a beautiful thing to see,  When I think of Harriet and Ted, I think of how they were so dedicated to their faith and family.  They created very caring, loving children and now grandchildren. They took care of those who needed a hand up as if they were family.
MAY HER MEMORY BE A BLESSING TO HER HUSBAND, TED, HER CHILDREN, AND GRANDCHILDREN.
