Devoted father to Aaron Benjamin Lawee and father-in-law to Sara Sirota. Adoring grandfather of Kira Miriam Lawee and Elana “Ellie” Rachel Lawee. Loving brother of Edward Lawee and brother-in-law of Eleanor Page, Michael Wolov, and the late Judith Wolov. Dear son of the late Leon and Violet Lawee. Cherished uncle to Lily Page, Joe Page, Shannon Lawee, and Sarah Balogh. He was deeply loved by his cousins, extended family, and wide circle of friends and co-workers.
Michael grew up in Baghdad until his family migrated to New York in 1960. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and Clarkson University and later moved to the Boston area, where he met his beloved wife Caren. They both worked in the health care field, Michael as a respiratory therapist and Caren as a nurse, and they raised their son Aaron in Marblehead.
Michael was an active member of Temple Sinai in Marblehead. He served the community in various roles, including as ritual chairman and coordinating high holiday services. In addition to his dedication to Temple Sinai, he loved to read and write, go for bike rides, volunteer with local organizations, and spend time with friends and family. More than anything, his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Baba,” brought him tremendous joy and pride.
