Sandra was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 16, 1937, beloved daughter of Sigmund and Tillie Lehrer.
She graduated Syracuse University in 1958 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She married Harris Gold, scientist, in 1960, and the two of them raised their daughters Dorothy and Rosalind in Lexington, MA.
After teaching, Sandra went on to become a decorating consultant and worked for the Sherwin William Company for 30 years before establishing her own consulting business. She “dreamt in color” and brought beauty, artistry and elegance to countless homes and lives. Sandra loved the little things about everyday life. She took delight in her plants, gardening, caring for her home, bike riding, sewing, volunteer activities, exercising and entertaining.
But most of all life was centered around her family. Her husband, children and her grandchildren were the highlight of her life and she forged special relationships with each of them. Sandra was G-Ma, Nana, and then G-G to little Bella.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Harris Gold of Peabody; Daughter Dorothy Klein and husband Mitchell; Daughter Rosalind Gold, MD and partner Paul; Grandchildren Matthew Klein and wife Sofiya; Benjamin Klein and wife Alex; Zachary Klein; Tessa Peredy (Nick); Isabel Peredy; Great granddaughter Bella Klein.
She is also survived by cousin Andy Lehrer (wife Gemma, daughters Sophia and Geanna), cousin Eve Lehrer Olive (husband Bill, daughter Rachel) and her childhood friend Lillian Herz Schindler.
Services for Sandra will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brooksby Village Resident Fund, in memory of Sandra Gold, C/O Hope Moore/ Philanthropy Manager, 200 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
