Dear Weisman Family, I'm so sorry for your loss.  Every time I see a Sokolove commercial, I think of Sheppard and today is no exception. I worked with him (as a legal secretary) at Green, Friedman & Packer; in the same building as Sokolove and remember Sheppard as being a lawyer "on a mission". I now live in southern Cali and when I saw a Sokolove commercial today, decided to see what Sheppard was doing. I am shocked and saddened to read of his passing. May peace be with you all, my condolences.

Dearest Ross, Lisa and Weisman family,  I just heard about Shep and my heart is broken into a million pieces. I am Patty (Summers) Lank, and I worked with Shep for several years at Jim Sokolove's office.  We fast became close friends, he talking to me about Lisa and other personal matters in his life, and me talking to him about my latest fling, my ex-husband and soon to be new husband.  We were close confidants and our relationship pretty much ended around the time that he passed the bar and I coincidentally left Jim's employment in my 9th month of pregnancy.  That would have been in May of 1986.  I can't remember just how it happened - it could've been through facebook - but in 2010 we reconnected and spent the last few years emailing each other regularly.  I was devastated to hear how the path of his life had gone, but he was still the same old Shep and I was happy to write him long, juicy emails and I think he was even happier to receive them.  For some strange reason, we drifted apart again I believe last summer, but our communications over the prior two years were loving, caring and yes, many times funny enough to cause belly laughs.  For both of us.  Ross - he was so proud of you - told me all about your professional successes in Chicago, and Lisa, he said splitting with you was the worst mistake he'd ever made.  I wish I have personal things to say to all of you, but I knew Ross and Lisa so I believe that is why we discussed them.  I do know that he adored each and every one of you.  I can't imagine the holes in your hearts.  I send you my love and wishes that someday you will think of Shep and just smile.  I know I did, just today.  We were (in 1985 or so) moving Jim's office at One Boston Place.  Everyone was expected to help out - packing boxes, etc.  I was pretty much the office manager and I asked Shep to start packing up one of the bookcases.  He actually looked at me and said he couldn't really get involved in that because he was wearing his white Polo pants.  He was actually quite serious.  He had me rolling on the floor - as he usually did.  I gave him $25 out of petty cash and told him to go down to Washington St. and buy a pair of cheap jeans.  He resisted for a while but then he went and bought them.  But it was a very comical struggle getting him to pack up a box of dusty books.  That is how I wish to remember him.  I actually miss him so deeply that I can't imagine how all of you are feeling. I knew Shep for most of
 his entire life. And I loved him very much.  Taken from us while still a very young man… Just so sad and my heart goes out to the entire family. I will always remember his goodness, his generosity, and his beautiful smile and sense of humor.
Rest in peace my young friend.
