Susan Barruw

Susan Barruw of Methuen (formerly of Malden), entered into eternal rest on March 8, 2023, at the age of 62, after a brief illness. The beloved wife of Barbara Bryant, with whom she spent over 41 years in marriage. Barbara was the love of her life. Born in Malden, Susan attended Malden High School. She spent one year at UMass Amherst before going to work in a lighting factory. With Barbara’s encouragement, she earned her Bachelor’s degree at UMass Lowell, in Information Systems, while working full time. Susan went on to establish herself as a competent Software Engineer, at many technology companies. She was the loving daughter of (the late) David and Phyllis (Tenovsky) Barruw. Susan is survived by her loving GIRLS6-FOREVER sisters: Janice (Mark) Ross, Brenda (Jay) Davidson, Amy (Paul) Sliva, Marcy (Scott) Sawin and Natalie (Kevin) Ferrari. Susan was the proud and doting aunt to Andrea & Danielle Ross, Lauren & Ashley Sliva, Frankie & Thomas Sawin, Ben Ferrari, and Jeffrey Davidson. She was the aunt through her marriage to Barbara to James (Krissy) Pawlicki, Chuck Safford and Adam (Sarah) Safford. Susan was #1 of Girls6. To us she will always be #1. A funeral for Susan will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 1:30pm at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, MA. Interment will follow at Puritan Lawn, 185 Lake Street, Peabody, MA 01960. Shiva will immediately follow at Temple Tiferet Shalom, 489 Lowell St, Peabody, MA 01960. Minyan Service at 7pm.
