She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 30, 1923 to Paul A. & Martha L. (Rahr) Danks. Allegra married Carl H. Thomas in Tacoma, Washington on July 14, 1951. She worked for the US Government as a Supply Depot Officer. Allegra and Carl came to Rogue River, Oregon in 1980 and then traveled to settle in Salem, Oregon in 1984.
Allegra loved gardening and spending time with Carl at home. She will be remembered for the fantastic vegetable gardens that she and Carl tended to. They made the best bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches.
She was a member of Unity Church of Salem & Order of Eastern Star. The Optimist Club was also important to Allegra and her family, after joining in 2011. Her brothers Allen and Edwin were both Optimist members for many years.
