
After a protracted battle with cancer, Arthur Roy Taylor passed away on February 13, 2017 in Turner, OR at the age of 78. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, June Taylor. He was predeceased by his son Trent, and survivors are his sons Matthew, Michael and Timothy, and his daughter Shannon.
Art was born on March 23rd, 1938 in Prosser, WA, to father George Taylor and mother Jessie Taylor, who predeceased him. He grew up in a family of 4 boys, with all of his young life spent in Redmond, OR. Over the years Art held a variety of jobs; Milkman, Fireman (rising to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief), tank farm construction, and Office Manager. His last job prior to retirement was his professed favorite - transporting jet fuel between Portland and Klamath Falls.
Art was active in his church; from transporting seniors to and from services and being an usher, to working several days a week for the food bank. Throughout his life he was generous with his time, and loved to help anyone in need.
Art requested to be cremated and his ashes will be interred at the family plot in Turner Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Family Life Church in West Salem on Saturday, February 18, at 1pm; all who knew him are welcome.
