

Barbara is survived by her daughters Bernadette E. Anne and Bridgette Lohrman; her siblings Henry Kuska, James Kuska, and Mary Galpin Nickerson; and her grandchildren Robert Stevenson II, Avery and Eliza Lohrman. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Stoffey, and daughter Jeanette Stoffey.
Barbara was born on July 16, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Anne Kuska. She attended K-8 at the Komensky School, 9-12 at J. Sterling Morton High School – East in Berwyn Illinois, and Morton College in Cicero, Illinois. She married John Richard Stoffey of Chicago, on October 23, 1965. Barbara was a proud homemaker for over a decade where she enjoyed decorating for the holidays, volunteering at her daughters schools or at church, serving as a Girl Scout troop leader, baking, cooking, tinkering in the garage to fix, repair, or build furniture.
After moving to the state of Washington in the early 1980’s, she worked at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue where she was proud to be a Unit Secretary on the cancer team and then in their Childbirth Center. Barbara was dedicated to her Catholic faith, loved all animals, and was proud to be a mom. She moved to Woodburn, Oregon in 2007 where she enjoyed attending Saint Luke Catholic Church and worked as a food demonstrator at Costco where she enjoyed being able to connect and interact with customers.
Barbara enjoyed working with her hands. She enjoyed, creating, fixing, building, tinkering, in her garage. She enjoyed being outside, in her yard, weeding, trimming, planting, or cutting her lawn. She was an avid fan of yard ornaments as they brought her lots of joy to have various statues of animals, children, and her beloved virgin Mary. She also was a fan of chocolate, any kind at any time of day.
Barbara was buried at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois on December 8. She lies next to her older sister, Barbara Kuska, mother Anne Julia Kuska, and father Henry Kuska. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Willamette Vital Health (1015 3rd Street NW, Salem, Oregon) for their hospice support during her dementia. Or, 3 Sisters Equine Rescue (7865 NW Eagle Drive, Redmond, Oregon) for her love of horses and humane treatment of all animals.
