

Delores was born June 6, 1932, in Spokane Washington. She spent her early years in Spokane, St. Maries, Idaho, and Portland before moving to Toledo Oregon with her mom and dad, Blanche and Oscar Sanderson. She and her sister, Bev, lived in Toledo until she married her handsome young Indian from the Siletz Reservation, Ed Ben. Together they lived in Siletz until Ed took a job in Salem. They have lived in Salem and raised their family for the past 60 plus years.
Delores enjoyed traveling. She and Ed went on several cruises and would make trips to Reno fairly often, before Indian Casinos opened up. Her favorite pastime for a while was Bingo. She would go to the Boys and Girls Club out on Portland Road. When Chinook Winds opened in Lincoln City, the keno machine became her favorite game to play, and win.
Delores is survived by: her son Gerald, his wife Jackie, and Ed Ben Jr. and his wife Alice.. Grandkids Christopher (Virginia), Crystal (Justin), Brandy (Jai), David, Jennifer, Michael, Channel (Andrew), Leanne, Fawn and Brook. Great grandkids Isaiah, Spencer, Cori, Crystin, Khloe, Mason, Kody, Faith, Hope, Jai Jr, Lennon, Livia, Clara, Evelyn, and Great-great Grandson, Bryan. She was preceded in death by her son Rod (Cheryl).
Services for Delores will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem.
