

Butch served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as an Artillery Fire Direction Control. He spent 15 months in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge in 1966, with the following honors:
- Vietnam Service Metal with two bronze service stars
- Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device
- Expert Badge with Rifle Bar.
Later that year, he married Virginia Ziech. He worked many years for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a District Service Manager. Butch retired after 15 years of service and retreated to the Montana mountains, where he will be laid to rest.
Butch could do anything he set his mind to. He was an avid hunter, carpenter, and mechanic and enjoyed golf, as well as socializing with friends and family, where he was always the life of the party. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and person.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ida Martin and father Carl Scott; sisters Linda Springer and Florence Marang, and brothers, Melvin Scott, Dean Scott, and Wilbur Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ginny Scott; his son Bob and wife Katey; two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Keith Barner and Nicki and Marlon Garrett; his granddaughter, Jordyn Heinsen; and five grandsons, EJ Heinsen, Xavier Scott-Barner, Xaylen Scott-Barner, MarRea Garrett, and Mason Garrett.
A viewing will be held Sunday, March 27 from 12 to 4 pm, and a funeral service will be held on March 28, 2011 at 1pm, both at:
