

Donna Marie Eyer, age 59, passed away on March 17, 2022 in Salem, Oregon after a 15 year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Portland, Oregon to Wilson and Joyce Eyer and was the youngest of three girls.
She grew up in Portland, Oregon and graduated from James Madison High School in 1980. She had fond memories of her first job working at Cascade Lanes Bowling Alley while in highschool. She was famous for her secret burger sauce that was exclusive to her favorite customers. This is where she met her lifelong friend Lee Ann.
Donna worked for Platt Electric Supply in Clackamas, then made the move from Portland to her beautiful Plumtree cul-de-sac home in Keizer, Oregon in 1992. She delivered papers for the Statesman Journal where getting her kids out of bed to make deliveries every morning at 3am became a distinct memory all three of her children share. Donna graduated Chemeketa Community College in 2005 with an Associates Degree. In 2006 she started her long career at Silverton Hospital, first as a dietary aide and moved on to her favorite position as a registrar in the emergency department where she was currently working. She had a huge work family that she adored.
Donna, affectionately known as Phoebe Phigalilly and Nertny amongst many other nicknames was also an ambitious entrepreneur. She was extremely creative and self-started many small businesses such as Savoy Station, Pixie Palace and Plumtree Fairy Designs. She even became an ordained minister in 2008.
Donna loved spending almost every night watching shows with her favorite daughter. One of her well-known quotes “In Omnia Paratus” was from their admired Gilmore Girls. She enjoyed crafting, baking, dressing up for every holiday. Music was her jam though, often playing name that artist as she sang out loud. Donna loved to sing. She always had a sunny disposition and made everyone she met laugh. She brought out the best in everyone she loved and made friends everywhere she went. Loved her friends, loved her children fierce.
Donna had many wonderful friends and enjoyed vacationing in warm places with them such as Florida, Puerto Vallarta and a special trip to Italy with her mother and sisters. She attended the 2013 US Open to meet her heartthrob crush Rafael Nadal and was planning to volunteer at the 2022 US Open in August.
Donna is survived by her children; Aubrey Harding, Alex Harding and Mackenzie Carlson. Grandchildren; Alexis, Kalli, Freedom, Marley and Quincy. Sisters; Susan Eyer-Sandwick and Carrie Hall. She’s preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Brooklyn.
Donna will be truly be missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service (605 Commercial St SE) in Salem. A Celebration of her life to follow service at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort (4751 Astoria St NE) in Salem.
