Her family moved to Salem in 1941 and later she graduated from Salem High School. She met Royal Tyler Hayes and they were married in 1945 (for 61 years).
Dorothy is survived by their 3 daughters, Deanna Williams (Al), Luanne Wright (Tom), Amy Haugen (Terry), 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She attended Salem Evangelical Church from 1941 until the week before going to Heaven.Besides her church, her children were her joy.

Viewing to be held on Wed., August 12, from 9am to 5pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. Celebration of Life will be Thurs. August 13, at 11:00am, at Salem Evangelical Church, 455 Locust St NE.
