George Ray Ellis

Ray was born on July 6, 1957 in San Bernardino, CA. to parents Duane Edward Ellis and Marie Joan (Coleman) Ellis. He graduated from San Gabriel High School and went on to Pepperdine University where he majored in Business Law. He played center on the basketball team for his high school and University and was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers after graduation. He was then traded to the Hawaiian Volcanoes but after breaking his ankle decided to move into the business world. Ray joined the Morrow Meadows team where he worked for over 35 years.

In 1982 Ray married Cecily Hodder and then had two children, Brenda (Ellis) Beer and Samantha Ellis. They moved to Oregon in 1994 where he became General Manager of Cherry City Electric. Ray had just started working half time so he could spend more time woodworking and traveling to Henderson NV where he loved to share time with friends and family.

Ray was a devoted husband and father. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile in his heart. He loved to tease and joke. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Marie Ellis and wife, Cecily Ellis, his daughter Brenda Beer and her family, Michael Beer and Jacob Beer and daughter Samantha Ellis.
