(The lady who loved cats)
September 9, 1935 – August 31, 2011
Grandma Gerry was greeted by her grandson Chris at heaven’s gate, August 31st.
In life Gerry was a multi-talented craftswomen, delving into every type of craft imaginable. Sewing, quilting, cake decorating, candy making, t-shirt decorating and cooking just to name a few…
Gerry was the owner / operator of the Nimble Thimble, a store that once stood in downtown Salem. She was an extraordinarily gifted seamstress. She designed and created clothing such as dance costumes, evening ware and wedding gowns. One of her exquisite creations was worn by a figure skater in the Olympics.
Gerry’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She enjoyed making extra special gifts and crafts for the season and sharing them with loved ones. Her Christmas parties were happy celebrations. She would transform her home into a festive wonderland. All her guests felt very privileged.
Gerry spent many happy hours teaching the art of sewing and crafting to new generations. Those who loved Gerry will greatly miss her and her “one of a kind” creations, especially during the Holiday Season.
She is survived by her husband Frank Lindsay, son Tommy, daughter Sandy, 1 grand daughter & 2 great grandchildren.
