

EDUCATION: Attended public schools in Salt Lake City, UT. Graduated from East High School in 1940. Attended St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Scotland (Short Leave Course, 1945); University of Idaho, 1946-7; George Washington University, 1947-8; University of Utah 1948-50 (BA with Honors); Air Command and Staff School, 1952; Columbia University 1953-56 (MA and Certificate from the Russian Institute, now the Harriman Institute.)
MILITARY SERVICE: World War II: Corporal, U. S. Army Air Corps, 1943-45; He was a member of the 14th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, 7th Photo Group, 325th Reconnaissance Wing, 8th Air Force. He was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with battle stars for the following campaigns: Air Offensive Europe, Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. His Wing was also awarded the Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation. Korean War: 1st Lt. 11. S. Air Force, 1950-52. Awarded the Korean Service Medal and the U. N. Service Medal.
EMPLOYMENT: Management Consultant, Norman Jaspan Associates, 1956-1958; Executive Analyst, George S. May Company, Chicago, 1958-9; Executive Vice President and Secretary, ICOA Life Insurance Company, Salem, Oregon 1959-68; Consultant, Executive Life Insurance Company, Beverly Hills, CA, 1968-9; real estate salesman and broker, A. A. Larsen, Inc., (owned by his wife, Helen and Harold) , Salem, OR, 1969-85. Retired 1985 to present.
INTERESTS: Began ranching as an avocation by raising Columbia, Suffolk and Dorset sheep in 1963. In 1972, when the coyote population became devastating, he switched to breeding Registered Hereford seed stock (under the name of Spring Meadow Ranch). In 1993, he and Helen dispersed their Hereford herd and engaged in forestry (under the name of Jensen Forest. They reforested their ranch land with 42,000 Douglas Fir and Valley Ponderosa seedlings in 1995 to 1996.)
NEXT OF KIN: Married Helen Jane Larsen, the true love of his life, August 27, 1960. Helen preceded him in death December 26, 2005.
He is survived by grandson Matthew Harold Lewis, and three great-grandchildren: Logan Lewis, Maxim Lewis, and Evy Lewis. He is also survived by brothers Reginald L. Jensen, Eugene, OR; Junius Jensen, Fresno, CA; Sisters: Bertha Rose Tapp, San Antonio, TX; Synnove Jewel Berg, Salt Lake City , UT; He was preceded in death by brothers David, Louis Vern, Leo Walter, and Lt.Col. Hyrum Conrad; and sisters Thelma Ruth Collier, and Constance Walser.
