James (Jim) Franklin LaFournaise, 81, died Monday, May 16, 2022 in Salem, Oregon. Born and raised in Glasgow, Montana, Jim's career as an automotive service manager lead him to Billings, Montana where he started a family and served 6 years in the US National Guard. In 1977, a career opportunity brought him and his family to Salem.
Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors: fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed his travels to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, The Bahamas, and Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Agnes LaFournaise, his former wife Beverly, mother of his 2 children; his siblings Audrey McNeill, Glenise McPherson, Marie Everett, Louise Van Buskirk, and Phillip LaFournaise.
He is survived by his wife Betty; his daughter Catherine LaFournaise, his son Christopher LaFournaise, his stepdaughters Jacqueline LaDue and Catherine Martin, his sister Irene Loggan, and grandchildren Joseph, Lilly, Violet, Cameron, Andrew, Emily, and Parker.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salem. Vault interment and reception will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens following the service.
