Jerry apprenticed as a Master Cabinetmaker after graduating from Silverton High School and received an AA in welding. He was stationed at Ft. Perrin, near Dallas, Texas when he served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.
Jerry and his brother, Homer, built family homes together. He also expressed his creativity by building a canoe, a grandfather clock, stain glass windows and many lovely custom cabinets.
He was employed at Salem Aluminum Window Company as a welder and at Del Monte in Machine Maintenance. There was no commercial or household repair he could not fix!
Jerry and MaryAnn were like peas in a pod in their love of gardening and card playing with friends. They were avid golf enthusiasts for several years. They held rental properties around Salem and traveled the US, Canada and Europe.
We will all miss Jerry’s quiet manner, his subtle sense of humor and gentle ways. He was a loving husband and dear father.
Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Oregon City, OR. November 13, 2023.
