Jimmie Duran Boling, age 80, passed away August 2, 2021, at his home in Keizer, Oregon. Born September 22, 1940, in Sandpoint, Idaho to Jess and Ruby Boling. After graduating from Sandpoint High School, Idaho, Jim went directly into the Navy, serving 4 years. June 17th, 1961 Jim married Carol Mathieson, the one and only love of his life, at the Naval Base in Pensacola, Florida. Jim was very patriotic and honored to have served the country he loved.

After his service, Jim and Carol moved to California for a short while where he built pools. Later they moved to Eugene, Oregon, where he owned and operated his own irrigation and landscaping business. Their four children were raised in Eugene; the family spent many happy years participating in musical and sporting events. They also enjoyed family camping trips and Sunday night drives listening to mystery theater on the radio. In 1985 they moved to Salem, Oregon, where Jim worked for the city of Salem parks department. After retiring Jim and Carol worked as managers at the Phoenix RV Park in Salem, where they met many wonderful people. The couple spent their later years traveling by RV in the Pacific Northwest, making sure they came home for their grandson's events.

Jim and Carol celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family in June of 2021. They always enjoyed music and dancing, from sock hops in the ‘50s to square dancing in the ‘80s. In a toast, Jim said, “My greatest joy has been going to the sporting events and other school functions of my grandsons.” Before games and important life events he would tell them to “Give ‘em Hell!” Recently he enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson and hoped for more great grandchildren.

Jim believed in honesty and hard work and was very proud that he instilled these values in his children. He always said how proud he was of his four grandsons for being honest and hard-working men.

Jim is survived by his wife Carol, three daughters, Coulette (Brett) Robinson, Tresa (Mark) Wilcox, Teri (Dan) Birkel, and his son James Boling (Michelle Stuedli), His Grandsons, Aaron Robinson(Katie), Keagan Birkel, Cordel Birkel, and Chase Wilcox, His Great Grandson, Carter Robinson, and his Sister Mary Paris.
