

He was born on December 31, 1943, in Beloit, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the Marine Corps. and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He always looked forward to attending reunions with his Marine Corps. buddies.
After his discharge, Joe attended Chemeketa Community College and he became a certified welder. He would later attend Western Oregon University to study psychology. He was the owner of Soaring Eagle Property Management company.
Joe's great love was for the wilderness. He loved to hunt and fish.He loved animals and enjoyed traveling to many states in his RV. Visiting Oak Harbor, Washington, was very special to him.
Joe is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dianne; his daughter, Michelle (Paul) Artman; stepson, Michael Brenaman; granddaughter, Leah (Dan) Gideon; grandsons, Andrew, Jacob, Nicholas, John, Ryan; brothers, William (Joyce) Frye, James Frye, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erma Frye Detwiler and Joseph Frye as well as his sister Cathy Eash.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 17, at 2 pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
