

Kitsy was born April 21, 1958 in North Bend, Oregon. She grew up in Aumsville and attended Aumsville Grade school and Cascade Jr. and Sr. High schools. She was active in choir and cheerleading, as well as other activities including being crowned Homecoming Queen. Shortly after high school, she went to work for the State of Oregon as a secretary. She quickly became an executive secretary and later an administrative assistant. She worked at the Board on Police Standards and Training, Department of Justice, Attorney General’s Office, Department of Administrative Services, and the Governor’s Office for the Chief of Staff. Kitsy finally retired after 35 years of service with the State of Oregon. She was respected for her vast knowledge of state government and for always going above and beyond. Kitsy enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Ethan and Darik Griffith of Salem, Father Frank (Cindy) Nichols of Aumsville, Mother Nancy (Curt) Prosa of Lebanon, Siblings Shereen (Steven) Lanzarotta of Culver City, California, Monique (Dexter) Zoda of Onalaska, Washington, and Kirk (Anna) Nichols of Boulder, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandmother Audrey Nichols and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
