Lois Eileen Murphy

Beloved wife of Charles Murphy of nearly 59 years, Lois went into the arms of her Savior, Friday, March 19, 2021,  She was the eighth child of 9, born May 9, 1931 in Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from Woodburn High School.  Lois was widowed early in life after the death of her first husband, Kenneth Petersen. Upon marrying Chuck they raised their family in Fremont, CA.  Lois was devoted mother of Colleen (Jay), Ken (Jennifer), Karen, (Wade), Mike (Kathy), Phil (Sherry), Chris (predeceased), and Patty (David). She is a cherished grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 23. Lois touched many lives with her gentle spirit and servant’s heart. 

“She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.  Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”  Prov. 31:27-30

Friends & family are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday March 27th, 2021, 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 1505 Monmouth Street, Independence, OR.  Viewing Friday, March 26th, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR.
