Marcus McQuade was born May 11, 1970. From an early age he had an interest both in sports and all genres of music, which set the tone for his lifelong passions. He developed a love for musicianship while learning to play the saxophone, drums, and other instruments. Thanks to his mother, JoAnn, he became a die hard Steelers fan and wonderful football player in his own right. In his adolescence and adult life, Marcus was a larger than life personality. He was known for his charisma, warmth, and love of entertaining. Of all his passions, he most loved being a father to Hailley, Morgan, and Maleah, who gave him the nickname he became known for-- Big Daddy. He impacted the lives of many simply by virtue of his nature, as well as by becoming a coach and mentor during his time teaching at Adam Stephens Middle School and McKay High School. He was genuinely a lover of all people and made friends everywhere; Marcus never knew a stranger. He lit up any room he walked into, and any stage he played on, making music with The Bryan Flannery Band, The Brian Odell Band, Brothers Still, and many others. Later in his life, he was thrilled to become a grandpa to his 7 grandchildren: Emmelia, Chloe, Ezra, Adelaide, Callan, Atlas, and Eliana. Marcus was and will always be our beloved father and grandfather, a wonderful friend and outstanding human. He will be dearly missed and remembered forever.
