Mary Farris was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 10, 1935 to her parents Basilio and Anita Sanchez. In 1957 she was married to Charles E (Chuck) Farris. They had three children, Douglas E Farris, Linda K (Farris) Chermack, and Glen A Farris, and had four grandchildren, Gavin, Owen, Aiden, and Kiera Farris.
Together with her husband, she owned and operated West Salem True Value Hardware Store from 1972 until their retirement in 1997. She was active in the West Salem Business Assoc. and the Rotary Club.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, and by her sister Natalie Roach and her brother Basil Sanchez. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the West Salem Rotary Club as Mary was a big advocate of supporting the community.
A memorial service for Mary will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial St. SE, Salem, OR 97301.
