Melinda Kay Wilson

Melinda was born May 23rd, 1961 to Stanley and Gloria Groom in Salem, Oregon. She was their only girl out of their family of nine. Her brothers: Warren passed in 2012, Bill, Byron, Mike, Gary and Joe Groom. She was also predeceased by her half brother Stanley Groom and half sister Barbra Groom. Melinda graduated from McNary High School.

She retired from Salem Hospital after 41 years. Starting as a Candy Striper and ending her career as a Unit Clerk and Telemetry Tech. Her passion was caring for people.

She enjoyed collecting rocks, crafting, camping, anything green, and being around her family. She will be remembered for being a wonderful Gram to her granddaughter, for being the life of the party, cooking enough to feed an army, and her willingness to help anyone in need. Melinda is survived by her son Adam Wilson, daughter Lydia Wilson, and granddaughter Gwyneth. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Salem. 

Surrounded by family at home on March 24th, 2020, Melinda took her final breath. She had been battling pancreatic cancer. Melinda is now at peace, pain free and watching over us. She will always remain in her loved ones' hearts and in our daily lives through memories.
