Michael Steven Rivett

Michael Steven Rivett 63, passed away with family by his side on September 3, 2024. He was born December 28, 1960 in Salem, OR to Bob and Donna Rivett. He is survived by his loving wife Georgi Rivett of Salem, OR, daughters Mandy (Joel) Hiatt, of Silverton, OR, Sara (Nick) Davidson of Salem, OR, sister Debra (Mark Becketti), of Cameron Park, CA, brother, Mark (Cathy) Rivett of Salem, OR, grandchildren Quintin Camenisch, Cole Davidson, Finn Davidson, Daisy Davidson, Presley Hiatt, Nellie Hiatt, Wyatt Mary, Ben Mary, Ellie Mary, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mike loved his job as a farm manager with Gehring Farms where he worked for 35 years. He was a valued employee and wonderful provider.

Mike loved working on his property, which kept him busy chopping wood and teaching the grandkids how to properly stack wood for the winter. Mike loved his shop and spent many hours tinkering with projects and displaying his large collection of rocks! Sitting down and relaxing wasn’t something Mike did well. He had to be doing something!

Mike also liked to camp and travel. Most recently, he and Georgi traveled to Alaska for fishing, whale watching and hanging out with great friends. Last fall he and Georgi traveled to the Bahamas where they enjoyed the sun, sand and relaxing.

Mike loved taking his fifth wheel to the Oregon coast where he and Georgi spent many days crabbing, fishing and enjoying a campfire. The camping was even more special when he was joined by his kids and grandkids.

Mike was selfless, loyal, hardworking and loving. His family was his number one priority and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by all, but never forgotten.

A memorial service and reception for Michael will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Virgil T Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial St SE, Salem, Oregon 97301.
