

Norma Lee Wyse was born on February 24, 1925 in Oklahoma to Robert Lee and Macie Byrdona (Rowland) Wyse. She was the third of seven children; five girls and two boys. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On April 4, 1942, Norma married Claude Lee Kennedy. They were the wonderful parents of four children: Virginia (Dick), Claude (Susan), Paula and Karen (David).
In 1946, after Virginia was born, they picked up and moved to California eventually settling in Sylmar where they owned and operated a pipe construction company. They moved to Keizer, Oregon in 1982 hoping to retire. Both Norma and Claude were from the “Greatest Generation” and their retirement looked a like work.
During the children’s school years, Norma was very active in PTA, Cub Scouts, Brownies, Church and all other activities that her children were involved in. She also loved gardening, painting and all types of crafts. Norma’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her 4 children, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was much loved by them all. Norma was known by all to be a kind and thoughtful person who loft a loving touch on many people. Norma was always very proud of her Cherokee Indian Heritage.
After 53 years of marriage, her soul mate, Claude passed away in Salem, Oregon in 1995. Their enduring faith in Jesus Christ has been a rich blessing to their children and all of their many friends. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and their spirits will be entwined in Heaven in the presence of Jesus Christ.
A visitation will be on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 1:00 pm -5:00 pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen. A Celebration of Norma’s life will be on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 am also at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen. Burial will be at City View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home.
