Pam Scott, daughter of Claude and Betty Miller, was born May 21, 1943, in Oakland, California, and was raised in Keizer, Oregon. She attended North High School (Class of 1961) and remained a loyal, lifelong friend to the classmates she met in Keizer grade school and at North High.
Pam was raised in a home shaped by music, creativity, and making things with care. Her father was a businessman, but his true joy was being hands-on: fixing, building, and dreaming up projects around the house. Her mother brought beauty in her own way through gardening and painting, and Pam carried that spirit with her throughout her life.
Pam attended the University of Oregon and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She married Jack Scott in 1964. They were married for 55 years before his passing in 2019. Pam and Jack were incredibly close; best friends, true partners, and deeply in love. They enjoyed life together and moved through the world side by side, building a family, a home, and a legacy grounded in shared purpose and devotion to the people they loved.
When her children were in grade school, Pam returned to school and attended the Bassist Institute of Interior Design in Portland. She went on to build a successful career and owned Pam Scott Interiors for 20 years, focusing on commercial interior design. Pam was known for her impeccable taste and her remarkable eye for color.
In the mid-1990s, Pam and Jack built a home they truly loved, surrounded by breathtaking views. Pam poured her heart into every detail, and her gift for creating beautiful spaces was unmistakable. Just as importantly, it was a welcoming place where Pam and Jack gathered people, shared meals and conversation, and opened their doors in support of community causes they cared deeply about.
Pam and Jack were also proud business owners. Together they owned and operated First Pacific Corporation for 53 years, providing accounts receivable services to dentists nationwide. Pam and Jack also owned two Chelsea’s Restaurants for 20 years, and in 1999 they donated one of the restaurant buildings to Family Building Blocks of Salem.
Pam believed in giving back. She volunteered with The Assistance League of Salem, The YMCA and served on the Board of Family Building Blocks. She was especially passionate about Family Building Blocks and its work to keep children safe and families together through supporting parents of young children with compassionate, trauma-informed resources so children can grow up in stable, nurturing homes.
Pam passed away on December 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Scott (2019), and her son, Brian (2016). She is survived by her daughter, Chelsea Scott, and her husband, Mike Marlowe; her beloved grandchildren, Jack, Andrew, and Arianna; and her sister, Diane McLin.
A private service will be held at a later date, when the sun is shining as bright as she did. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Family Building Blocks of Salem.
