

Robert Lee Skinner Jr. passed away on November 28, 2025, at his home in Salem, OR, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Kerens, Texas on May 31, 1952, to Willie Lee Edwards Skinner and Robert Lee Skinner Sr. His family moved several times during his early childhood and finally settled in Casa Grande, AZ. He was the eldest son of ten and in addition had 3 half siblings.
Robert graduated from high school in Casa Grande in 1971 and shortly thereafter was drafted into the Army. After he returned home to Casa Grande, he joined several family members who had moved to Salem, OR. He met his wife, Debra Sue Wilcox, there in the early 1980’s and they were married in 1992.
Even though Robert did a variety of jobs throughout the years he most enjoyed designing and making jewelry and maintained a booth at the Salem Public Market in Salem for 16 years selling necklaces, bracelets, earrings and other hand-crafted items. He was always interested in meeting other people and visiting with friends and family. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and exploring new places and meeting new people.
Robert had a great sense of humor, a wonderful smile, and truly enjoyed helping others. He was a much-loved son, husband, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Robert is survived by his wife, Debra and his older sister, Christine Bonner of Georgia, and two younger brothers, Gary Skinner of Salem, OR and Tommy Skinner of Coolidge, AZ, along with many many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at a later date.
